Band Bios

 

Abby - fiddle ~ mandolin ~ bodhran ~ tin whistle ~ vocals ~ flute

Abby has been playing fiddle for seven years starting her Irish music with Rasa Chambers and continuing the learning experience through several workshops, master classes and Irish music schools.  She is currently studying under Dylan Foley. Abby has studied under great fiddle players such as Colin Farrell, Mick Conneely, Tony DeMarco, Jesse Smith, Patrick Ourceau and Maeve Donelly.  She is the 3 time recipient of a scholarship to Augusta Irish Week in West Virginia and has also participated in Scoil Egliese in Ireland during the All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil taking singing lessons from Doreen Farrelly.  Abby has had lessons in ceili band from Sean Clohessy and Daniel Neely. Abby has also been awarded the NAFC Music Scholarship three times, the Cleveland Feis Commission Music Scholarship two times, the Patrick O'Malley Trophy three times and the Al Purcell Trophy one time. Abby recieved the Sean Moore Vocal Scholarship at the 2013 Cleveland Irish Cultural Festival to continue her study of Irish Singing and Song.  She competed in and qualified for the All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil in English Singing and recieved a scholarship to study in Ireland.  Abby is very accomplished as a musician and has composed several original tunes which the band plays.  She is an old soul when it comes to music and has a special connection to the heritage of Irish music.

 

Emmett - fiddle ~ banjo 

Emmett has been playing the violin for eight years starting out with classical training which he continues in addition to mastering Irish Traditional music on fiddle.  Emmett too learns Irish music from Rasa Chambers and has been taking lessons for 3 years.  He is continuing his fiddle study's with Dylan Foley. He is quite accomplished as a fiddle player having won the Patrick O' Malley Trophy at the Cleveland Feis after less than a year of lessons on fiddle.  Emmett has also won two scholarships to take classes in fiddle and banjo at Augusta Irish Week at Davis and Elkins College.  He has taken classes from Colin Farrell, Patrick Ourceau and Mick Conneely and has taken banjo from Daniel Neeley. Emmett has also been involved in playing in ceili bands and has taken ceili band classes with Sean Clohessy and Daniel Neely.  Emmett brings a fun style to The Roundabouts and is always up for a joke or two during a gig.  He is a strong player with a creative ornamentation style that will have you whistling for more!

 

Molly - guitar ~ stories

Molly has been playing guitar for three years.  She started her musical career on piano taking classical lessons and built a strong base of music theory.  She loves to tell stories and share intimate moments with others while on stage.  Molly's quick witt will have you in stitches and her jokes will keep you coming back for more.  Molly has studied Irish guitar under Brian Miller and Brian Bigley.  She has also taken storytelling workshops with Martin DeCoagan.  Molly plays in a ceili band as well under the direction of Daniel Neely and Sean Clohessy.  She has been awareded a scholarship to study Irish Music at the Augusta Irish week two times and has been awarded the Al Purcell Trophy at the Detroit Feis.  Molly is a creative writer and spends time writing short stories she shares.  She is also an accomplished guitar player mastering backing skills and techniques.  Molly qualified and competed in the All Irealnd Fleadh Cheoil in two categories.
